Deciphering Our Calendar

Deciphering Our Calendar:

To a new member, our calendar has a tendency to be overwhelming. However, we as organizers feel, that as the group grows, it is better to have many choices, than to be stuck with only 1 play-date here and there. We want to accommodate the needs of ALL of our members, working moms, SAH moms, etc. In order to help you better decipher our calendar, we have come up with a coding system.

You are not required to RSVP 'no' to any of the events on the calendar, if that is what your RSVP would be. However, if you do RSVP 'yes' or 'maybe' to an event, and plans change, you are required to adjust your RSVP accordingly (please see Attendance Rules).

Tip: To quickly find a certain type of event on the calendar, make sure you are in the month you want to search, then hit CTRL+F. Type in one of the codes below, and this will search the page for that type of event.

Coding is as follows:

TODDLER - Toddler Events will be coordinated by the Toddler/Baby Event Coordinator Team, but may be hosted by any one of the organizers on the team. Not only will they be coded with the TODDLER code above, but also with an age appropriate number (i.e. 2-4 TODDLER, would mean that this is a Toddler Event open to ages 2-4 years).

BABY - Baby Events will be coordinated by the Toddler/Baby Event Coordinator Team, but may be hosted by any one of the organizers on the team. Not only will they be coded with the BABY code above, but also with an age appropriate number (i.e. 0-2 BABY, would mean that this is a Baby Event open to ages 0-2 years).

MOMS - Moms Events will allow children (with no age limitations), but will focus more on the socialization with your fellow mamas. These events will include: Coffee Dates, In Home Play-Dates, Shopping Events, etc.)

LADIES - Ladies Only Events will not allow children or men, and will include: Bunco, Scrapbooking, Spa Days, Ladies Night In, etc.

ADULTS - Not just limited to the ladies (couples, singles allowed), but no kiddos allowed.

COUPLES - Couples Only events will be no kids, and couples only, usually a date night or at home game night.

FAMILY - Family Events us to include the whole family, and will include: Kids Parties, BBQs, Fight Nights, etc.

KIDS - Kid Events will be coded with the appropriate age group (i.e. KIDS 5+, would allow only children over 5) and focus on activities for the kids, moms and/or dads may attend.

COMMUNITY SERVICE - Community Service Events will be held on a large scale, 4 times a year, and on a smaller scale once per month. These events are coordinated by the Community Service Coordinator but may be hosted by any one of the organizers.

VIRTUAL: These events will be online events and will include our recipe exchange events, as well as profile update events, etc.

SECRET SISTER - Although these too are "Ladies Only" events, we like to code these a bit differently so that you find them easily. Secret Sister events may only span a week or 2, or may go for many weeks at a time.

GET FIT - Get Fit events will be held on a VERY regular basis. They will mostly be walking//running and yoga events, but may entail more intensive exercise in the future.

BOOK CLUB
- Book Club will be held at least every 6 weeks and will be coordinated by the Book Club Coordinator.

All events are subject to cancellation and removal from the calendar due to the following reasons: weather, lack of RSVPs (3 or less people attending), sickness of hostess with no alternative hostess available, etc.

If at all possible cancellation will be made in a timely manner, at least 12 hours prior to the event. Organizers will do their best to contact all RSVPs personally if cancellation is made in less time, however always make sure to check your email before leaving for an event.

We thank you for taking the time to look over our policies and would like to extend a warm welcome to you. We look forward to seeing you out at the events in the future. Should you have ideas/suggestions for future events, please send a message to the appropriate coordinator named above.

Sincerely,
ECM Organizer TEAM
